They're classy and suave and don't have to work for their money but have loads of it(old money, if you will). All they do is throw parties, be mysterious, and eat people. ^_^ ***** *chokes on blood* eat people??? I thought vampires just sucked peoples blood, not EAT them!! 0_o

I can't think of a specific example as of right now(I just got off work, give me time to heal), but I like the portrayal of vampires that make them all elegant and somehow above it all. They're classy and suave and don't have to work for their money but have loads of it(old money, if you will). All they do is throw parties, be mysterious, and eat people. ^_^ Bourgeois vampires...? XD

I know what Bourgeois is (well, sort of) but I don't know Mr. Peanut, and am therefore very lost.
I like Stephenie Meyer's vampires, because they're clearly mythical creatures, but life's not dead easy for them because they're trying to be good and not drink human blood.

You know how I look up everything immediately on the internet for reference pictures to post, or definitions, or links, etc?
I'm surprised I haven't done that yet for Bourgeois.

See... I guess I'm conflicted--I grew up reading Anne Rice's books, and so a lot of my mental image of vampires is credited to her. I like the concept of these beautiful things higher on the food-chain then we are--though at the same time, I'm totally agreeing with Jones here: They are SHAMELESSLY bourgeois. Though if you wanted to defend them, I suppose you could say that it's just like some humans--take for example, Marius. Marius is old as dirt, but when he was alive, he was a Roman patrician, a nobleman. So his attitude to material things is infinitely more refined then, say, Lestat--who was the second son, I think, of some country lord out in the corner of Bumfuque and Nowherie. And Louis is just a melancholic little emo kid--but he still has the aesthete sensibilities of a Southern Plantation Gentleman. And we see that being exemplified in Claudia--this little girl who comes from some little ghetto, who matures, eventually, into this lovely, erudite little southern girl, albiet with a very dark and twisted bent. So, again, I guess it depends; if they were middle class to begin with, I guess breeding holds true.
I dunno--I like the concept of the vampire as this uber-sociopath. I'm a psych student, so the thought of someone with such highly developed sociopathy makes me quiver in glee and terror.

-HEADSLAM OF DOOM-
The Spam totally does not like talking about Vampires, it just makes her head hurt... The knowledge tries to leak out and and and I don't wants to make people angry with the knowledge.
-shakes fist full of embryos-
I just like to flow with the stories I guess. I hate making presumptions on another persons views on the bloodsuckers because it is just annoying later on.
I love Jones' take on Vampires. It is delicious. Now. I think that this is a time for dancing.
