My old high school was right beside a farm and once they had to cancel a rugby game because the cows escaped and ran onto the field.
@aha: yes i did post a pic of me and one of my cows. That was Micah, he's....no longer with us. The ones i have now are worse. They're dirty, not halter-broken and have ringworm. (a skin fungus that can spread to people and horses) I swear to god if my horse gets ringworm shit is going down and people will pay!

XP Also, did you know cows used to have horns, which were sawed off (a nasty, bloody process) to keep them killing each other with them, and so now the horns have been bred out of them?

yes, but i don't think that's entirly accurate. It depends on the breed. some breeds still have horns (ie: the White Park or Texas Longhorn) and those ones may/may not get dehorned depending on the owners desires (in my 4-H club due to it being a bunch of kids it was manditory so kids didn't get hurt....as easily) But there are certain breeds (ie: the ever so yummy black angus) that yes, horns have been bred out of them completly. It was a process of taking the mutant cows that didn't develop horns and breeding them together and taking thier mutant offspring which didn't have horns and continuing in a similar fasion until there is now no chance of horns.

Ah, ok. My boyfriend's parents used to be farmers in Scotland, so it's from him I heard it, which means it was probably the breed(s) of cow in that area that they bred the horns out of.

When we adopted one of my kitties he had ringworm... little did I know that would spread to people too. I was walking around with at least four spots of it on my arms and legs... so yeah. I finally got rid of it, if you're wondering. Surprisingly, athlete's foot cream works wonders!

I'm curious, Aclif. How much is this payment that people are going to have to pay for the shit?

no no. no paying for shit. just paying with their lives if my ponies get contaminated. (mainly my step-dad's life seeing as it's he who bought the cows again this year even after my multiple saying's of "i'm not doing beef 4-h again this year, thus i am NOT HELPING WITH COWS AND DON"T WANT THEM!!!")
