I have an awesome bookshelf. I just need a SECOND one because it's overflowing... which means I need to get rid of another piece of furniture in my room to make room for said second bookshelf. Hmn, I don't need my chest of drawers, do I?

In my room at home in Vermont, I have three free-standing bookshelves, and six single shelves attached to the wall, and there is still not enough room for my books. *sob* And I have another bookcase here in Maine which has double rows of books on each shelf because I don't have enough space.... ;__;

I left a bunch of my uni stuff at my aunt's house over the summer 'cause I couldn't bring it back to Canada, and she looked mildly surprised when she saw my boyfriend carry a bookcase in! I need it, though; I'm an English student I have lots of books!

The biggest problem with bookshelves is that no one ever throws them away. Bookshelves are made to outlast the books they hold. People keep them for fucking ever, until it falls apart. You can't buy a secondhand bookshelf in a garage sale, and you can't pick one up in the street on heavy waste disposal days. D=

Actually, you could have if you were at Anime Boston a few weeks ago! They made a separate section for the mystery manga (this year's theme), with their own bookcase, and after the con was over, no one wanted it, so they just threw it out!
And also: I'd suggest going dumpster diving when all the college kids are moving out! You'd be amazed at what you can find.

Yeah, I only buy furniture like that at thrift stores or garage sales.

I freaking love going to yard sales, but no one ever wants to come with me. Like they're too classy for it or something. Pft.

The best days are the first/second of July. Canada day has become the official moving day here, and there's always some treasures left behind. <3

What's this 'Canada' you speak of?
Is that what Hat-monsters call America's Hat?
