I think Jones says somewhere that, yes, she invented the term Vampirate, but then so did many other people. I once read a book about Vampirates ... Here we are: "___So ... Vampirates ... WTF?___ WTF indeed. I'm certainly not the first person to have come to the fantastic conclusion that if you say "vampire" and "pirate" in the same sentence enough times, it leads to coinage of the term "vampirate". Some guy made a movie (or was going to make a movie) about Blackbeard as a vampirate, I think. In conclusion, I did invent the term on my lonesome, but so did lots of other people, so I can't really claim it. " From: vampirates.comicgen.com/about.html

haha. i read the 'vampirates' book. thats why i found the comic, 'cause i stumbled across Jones on Y! gal and i was like, someone made yaoi of that rubbish book!?!?
I was -pretty- happy when I discovered it wasn't fan art of 'Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean'.

I read the book because of the comic, and was a bit disappointed, because Jones's vampirates are infinitely better than the other ones.

<--- reading the Charby one just to see what its like
<---- MASSIVELY amused that one of the pirates at the beginning is called Jones

I'm actually currently reading the first AF book for the billionth time. I only own the first two, a technicality that will shortly be remedied.
