Ahaha... it can get confusing.
It... depends on context, Thane. I mean, "This is my buddy, so and so" is not pejorative. "FUCK YOU, BUDDY" when someone cuts you off? YES, pejorative.
So again, context. I wonder if Americans have a similar word?
