BC has sheet-tay public transit. Or at least my area of the island does. My house is 45min walk from nearest bus stop. Buses are at random times and impossible to figure out. If you want to get across town you have to transfer half a dozen times, oh! and btw those transfers don't actually match up with anything so you get off one bus and have missed the bus you were suppose to transfer onto by like 7 minuets and the next one doesn't come for well over an hour.
I could go on but I'll stop now.

My friend's Dutch and was complaining about public transit in Scotland. I told him it's better than in Canada and his response was (unsurprisingly) 'but that's Canada, you're sub-human'. He was genuinely kind of appalled that it's so bad, though.

*shrug* It seemed nice in Quebec (and yes even in Toronto).

"sub-human"!! meanie *pouts* Nah, we just have stupid gov. that's all like "ride your bike! ride the bus! But we're not going to help you and you have to deal with bus passes that pretty much are the same price as insurance for the year and bike lanes that are the shit and don't exist so you piss off all the drivers that have to drive cause they live an hour drive from there work!!"
If my sis drives to work it takes her 30min. If she were to bus to work it would take her 2.5 hours and three transfers.

Canada's lovely, really. I like to think that he's jealous and that's why he insults it so much. More likely it's just that it's fun to slag me off, apparently, and being Canadian is something that distinctly defines me over here.

See, I really enjoy Canada. And everyone says our transit is shite, and yeah, Toronto's is not so hot compared to the rest, and our infastructure is aging, but never the less we are trying to improve. There's implementation of bus lanes and such...and there's always VIA for those long-haul trips and GO Transit for the shorter trips. I dunno. I prefer Toronto's to Hamilton's, and Hamilton's to Mississauga's, and Mississauga's just beats the righteous shit out of Brampton's. It's sad, but true.
I do know its better in europe, and I absolutely crave a light-rail transit system in the downtown core. Whoo sustainability. Also, gas? Ridiculously expensive. I don't drive, but if I did, I wouldn't be able to afford to do so. I'll just get a vespa when I move downtown.

Despite the craptastic buses and insanely expensive gas, I lover my home here. Yay medical system! Ya driving sucks with gas prices. I have to drive 45min twice a day when going to school. I worked it out once with my old car and it cost me about $2/10min drive. My new vehicle's much better though.

Oh man, you're telling me. Ontario's medical system is pimp. I have bone tumors--and I have one growing at the moment. I found it two weeks ago, had the doctor's appointment the same day, xrays three days later, call-back three days after that, and a specialist's appointment scheduled for the 29th. And there will be biopsies. Lots and lots.
And this isn't the first time its happened---these bone tumors are lovely recurring specimens of shitty luck, and three surgeries later. But man, health care is the shiznat. I don't think we pay for the surgeries, or OHIP covers it or something. <3
