It just occured to me, that in the original version of the song, there's this verse about a bloke named Callaghan; "Now everything was doin' fine, there was no ill at all 'Til Finnegan told Callaghan, "You've got an awful gall." I thought that that might start a row, And sure enough it did For Callaghan had carved his name upon the coffin lid" So, this is the asshat that went and caused all the bumfuckery at Pat's funeral.
It also occured to me that Clyde's last name is Callaghan. Coincidence?

Ooh! Ooh! I like theories! What should we all be theorizing about?
So many mysteries... So little time. *strikes detective thought pose*

So one of Clyde's ancestors was at Murphy's funeral? Or perhaps Callaghan is a common name?

Callaghan is quite a common Gaelic name, so in a place where much of the population is of Irish descent it wouldn't be uncommon to find two families of that name who are unrelated. That said, it's more fun to think that it was Clyde's ancestor who was so awful at Murphy's funeral. Far more exciting than the mundane (and more likely) explanation.

bats: Someone stole it... but who, I wonder? *thinks* Yeah, that makes sense. My last name is actually pretty popular in the Irish culture (well duh, you're part Irish) but many many people get it mixed up with another common Irish name. Hee Hee. That's funny. "Irish" sounds like "I wish". Hehe. ~I wish upon a star, and trying to believe, that even though it's far, he'll find me Christmas eve. . .~

Now now, people. Let's all get along here.
OR
Start a mutiny. That way every one is involved in one way or another. And for those who get knocked off, I apologize in advance.
