I don't understand why anyone would want to move from sunny Hawaii to cold Canada either. Mainly because Canada gets hotter than Hawaii in the summer. DX

I don't like walls. If we build a wall Regan would pop out of his grave and would be really really pissed.

Ack! Zombie Regan!
I was debating with mes buddies Emma and Jesus about it today. A big reason they are building a wall down hereabouts is because of the drug trafficking problem. HOWEVER, Jesus made a very good point: There is a rather nasty Meth problem up around the Canadian border. So, why don't they build a wall on the northern border as well?
Now that was coming from Jesus, so take it with a grain of salt, but I still think it has good thought to it.
NOW, before the politicking gets mean, I have an excellent idea!
Answer me this: if a Rose were called a 'Vomit Flower', would it smell as sweet?

Woah. That's strange. You know, soon we'll have to use Passports to get into Canada! D: That's awful cause it used to be, "Hey kids hop in the car we're going to drive to Canada cause we can." Now it's gonna be like, "Hey kids go get your passports and hop in the car...aww what's the use?" It take the fun out of it.

well, we want to build a wall because of all the illegal imigrants. I mean, we don't want all those mexicans coming here, earning our money, then sending it down their and fucking up our economy, then getting paid under the table to avoid taxes, and get free medical insurance, so we all have to pay more taxes. *backs away veeery slowly* Oh shit....back to mexico chico.*grabs her grandpa and runs* Seriously though...Aren't we all immigrants? We came here from different places, ne?

I mean, we don't want all those mexicans coming here, earning our money, then sending it down their and fucking up our economy... It occurs to me that I can't wait until Alberta starts thinking this way regarding their own migrants on the oil fields. There should totally be a wall around Atlantic Canada. XD That'll teach us to be poor! Labour migration isn't abnormal by ANY stretch of the imagination - it's just that we couldn't care less when it's people from within our own country doing it. Employment tends to draw labour to where they want them to go, and in this case, it happens to be drawing them from outside the country's borders, rather than inside (again, NOT unusual, although maybe it is for the US, I honestly don't know there). Our economic reach is growing larger (thanks, NAFTA!), so why is it a surprise that the labour force is becoming more international as well, and that people are entering illegally to do so...? The US is used to going to other countries to satisfy labour needs, rather importing the labour themselves, which is how poorer countries tend to do it. If the US had more stationary capital (things you can't pick up and move to other countries, like oil fields), I don't think they'd be kicking up as much a fuss about all that labour coming to them so willingly. BLAH BLAH BLAH I talk so much!!!!111 lollerskates! :D P.S. Canadia pwns.

To Devil Ether: We don't have a massive Canadian immigrant problem. I found out today that one of my friends got deported from the US back to Canada. Weird. Apparently, the States doesn't want Canadian immigrants. At all. I was checking all the immigration laws and all the things you need to do as a Canadian to become a US citizen sooner or later, and it's pretty damn crazy. Some random dude coming from Iran would have an easier time staying in the States long-term than a Canadian.
Hell, we can't even get green cards.

Bubbles: You can't get green cards at all or they want you to do something ridiculous to get them like stand on your head and sing the national anthem backwards while frying kittens for Bush to eat?
Trey: Sending money back to the old country is as old as immigration itself. You say that we came here legally and that would be true if by legally you mean that we slaughtered the natives and took their land. It wasn't a problem when it was the Irish, Swedish or German immigrants but suddenly when it's darked skinned Spanish speakers it's a problem. I agree that there should be some kind of way to monitor who is coming into the Country but only because we don't know if there are drug dealers and murders coming in. Like I said before, they're taking jobs nobody else wants and they're being paid below minimum wage because they don't know the language or the law and even if they did, because they're illegal if they asked for more their employers could just threaten to have them deported. I'm sure you aren't going to college to learn how to pick oranges or scrub toilettes for a living.
