She's in Hawaii, but I'll tell her. About the Hotel: They are going to kind of ridiculous from what I've seen so far. First off, we'd be staying there FIVE nights. The cheapest one I've seen, at about $90 a night on AVERAGE, we'd all be paying a little over a hundred each, not counting tax, and that's if we happen to GET a $90 a night hotel. Spam and I wanted to get two rooms, but that would be like, six people to a room, so yeah, we probably SHOULD get three... I'm looking around websites again, DUDE I'M SOO GOING TO PULL MY AAA MEMBERSHIP. Hotels often give discounts for it. Hell, Spam, we should just get the info etc from AAA and have them book it for us. XD Ok, I just found one on Travelocity(one I hadn't looked at yet) for an average of $83 a night. i53.photobucket.com/albums/g66/SpleenGod/map01.jpgIt's NOT within walking distance, but we'll probably have two cars if you guys wouldn't mind driving/parking. We could most definitely go back to the hotel anytime during the day, but we'd have to pretty much go together. I'll update you guys on what I find AAA wise, until then.

Well, I did some searching with chains that I normally use in the States (the really generic ones, but they're not horrible. I've stayed in them for dance competitions, and on the way to Florida and stuff). I based all my pricings on THREE (3) ROOMS, FOUR (4) PEOPLE PER ROOM, FIVE (5) NIGHTS, WITH TREY'S AAA MEMBERSHIP. Here's what I've got:
Best Western Dragon Gate: - 818 N Hill St. - 6 minute drive from the convention centre (this is the closest) - complementary breakfast and free high-speed internet - $2597.89, 2 queen
Clarion Hotel Downtown - 1901 W Olympic Blvd - Free guest parking, free high-speed internet, free coffee - $2269.54, 2 double
Ramada Limited Los Angeles Downtown - 611 S Westlake Ave - Free high-speed internet, complementary breakfast - $1966.50, 2 queen
With the exception of the Best Western, which would be about a 20 minute walk, I think (that's generally how long it takes me to walk a 6 minute drive), none of these are walking distance. And I'm not sure we'd want to keep doing a 20 minute walk.
Now, the con has rooms blocked for a special rate ($154/night for quadruple occupancy), which is about $10 more/night than anything you see above. If there are still rooms available (we'd probably have to book, say, NOW, unfortunately), it might be worth a shot to just stay in that block. We'd be right there, it looks like a pretty sweet place, and it's not a terrible price. I know 4-digit numbers are intimidating, but if you look at it this way: 3 rooms for 5 nights is like saying 15 nights, and there are 11 of us, so each of us pays for 1.36363636363 of a night. If that makes anyone feel any better. I know it helps me.
As for credit cards, I don't even have one, except my "emergencies-only-it's-in-my-name-but-it's-my-parents'-account" card, which is pretty much the same as not having one. Basically for when I'm kidnapped, left stranded in Fiji, my kidnappers haven't stolen my wallet, and I need to get home. Or something like that.

Way to lazy to figure out the cost per person. Figure it out for me? *bats eyelashes*
Lol, how bad is it that I didn't even know the con had rooms blocked off? We should definately shoot for those, because hey, even though it's 10 more a night, that's probably the cost for gas/parking.
$192 per person, btw. For the whole hotel trip. Do you know if the 154 counts tax? T_T

It doesn't say if that includes tax or not, but I would assume not. It's a pretty even number to include tax.... And did you look at the parking map for the place? It's NUTS. I hope someone can make heads or tails of it, because I can't!

Personally, I'm thinking it'll be better if we're in the actual Con blocks. Like, I can see that being a lot more useful. There's a bunch of us, so I'm sure none of us actually want to have set arrival-departure times.. that's just not as much fun. The walk is okay--it was about a twenty minute walk from the Con to the Renaissance at AN; but again, we don't know the neighborhood, and we'll all be in costume, which of COURSE can cause some very, very interesting problems. If it was in Toronto, I'd say whatever, let's walk... but since it's a new location for a lot of people, it might just be better if we hork up the extra ten a night, and see if we can stay in one of the convention-hotels.
However, that means we're gonna have to buy soon, and so we need to designate Room Leaders. Trey, do you have a list of everyone that's attending? If possible, could you post it here, and we'll divvy up the rooms?
I want to make it perfectly clear, though. If you're in for the trip, you're in for the trip. Do Not Stiff Your Room Captain. It is completely unacceptable--I have had this happen at previous conventions, which leaves the owner of the credit card completely fucked, and that is not something we want to do.
So, if you're in, you're in, and mazel tov. I don't want to come off harsh, but I don't want people not volunteering for Room Captains just because they're worried they will get stiffed. Suffice to say, I will be regally pissed if someone fucks off with payments, and guys, lets just not go there.
Right now, we need the following information: One: How much will it cost, PER ROOM, for the entire stay? (four people in the room for the full number of days)
Two: Who is attending the convention?
Three: We need three people to Room Captain (preferrably people with more then 500.00 credit balances, should the 500.00 exceed the price of the room for the stay). Do we have any volunteers?

ETA: FOR ROHA sorry it sucks ![](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a176/jonesinspace/em.jpg) There's seriously nothing to work with... other than what's here, black pants and shoes. :\ I <3 you, Jones. You've made that my simplest cosplay (I've already got the hairstyle and color.) And the uniform should be easy to find/buy at thrift stores.

Clover:
People going: Jones -YES Trey -YES Pat Spam -YES Clover Andiel -YES Melon Roha -YES Keli(Roha's sister) Coffey Cuki
Some of these people you may not know, but they're my friends who will be going with. I need definite yes/nos from people soon, as soon as I find the info I'll set a deadline. Even if you've already said yes or no, can everyone who's going please just reply with a yes, no, or unsure? That way I can have some sort of idea.. Because we NEED to book the rooms soon.
On the subject of room captains, I'm pretty sure Spam was going to put the deposit on her card, and everyone would just give her money when it's time to pay the hotel.
The rooms are $154 a night with tax, so each room will be $770 for all five nights, per room.

I will admit it--I looked at that room bill and puked a little in my mouth. That cancels out my card, then. I have a limit of 500, so I'm boned. If Spam can front it, I will personally crawl up people's asses to insure a on-time payment.
Also: I'm In. Confirmed.
Oh hey, Trey--are any of your friends that aren't in the forum-group... are they in the cosplay as well, or just in the group? I know we'll have the four main characters, but who else is filling roles?

Keli, Coffey, and Cuki will probably be doing their own thing, though Cuki I'm sure will be more than happy to fill in as a Joe.

I'm in, definitely. I don't care if I have to rob a bank. Really, that just puts me more in character. No credit card, though.
