Deep in the province of Manitoba, several students of Manitoba University have a secret...
Working and going through school, they somehow find the time to cram and study, work on projects, and deal with their personal life. The stress is undeniable and mindbending to all of them, but there is a select few that don't crack under the pressure, they have a secret weapon, a secret weapon that none of the other students, even ones with the same secret, know about.
College student by day, but at night, when the moon is full...awwoooOOOOO!! They turn into the slinking silence, the very shadow of the moon itself, the darkness you feared when you were a child. Ninja.
They are the Wereninja of Manitoba University, and they will kick. your. ASS.
At tests too.
-------------------------------------
A young boy lay in the grass, contemplating his life, and then without a second thought, boarded a ferry to leave Newfoundland. Meanwhile....
Vander etched out the last few digits on his calculus test then looked up at the clock, half an hour to go. About a third of the class had given up twenty minutes into the test, thrown their papers away, and left in tears. Most of the class wouldn't finish the test in time at all. Math was his best subject, so he slipped his messenger bag back-pack over his shoulder and stepped up to the desk. The teacher gave him a queer look, inspecting the paper as it fell in front of him as if he half expected it to be incomplete. Vander didn't see the teacher's reaction, he was out of there before the professor looked up. The halls were fairly quiet, since most people were taking midterms, and he took the time to contemplate. Three days until the full moon...
A typical boy, Vander. He always sports a long sleeve button-up shirt and jeans, and has jet black hair that is desperately in need of a decent cut. Still, quieter than the average college boy, he studies hard and doesn't go to parties, though his dorm room mate throws them all the time.
It was a nice day out, and so he found a table in the shade of a tree, pulled out his physics book, and began a bit of light reading.

30 minuets left. Alice rubbed her face vigorously trying desperately to drag out a few more answers from where they were lodged in her brain. She hears a chair scrap and looks up to see a boy hand in his test before quietly slipping out of the classroom. That uber smart kid in class. What was his name? Zander? Chandler? Something like that. Alice never could remember even though she'd sat behind him in calculus this entire semester. Maybe if she paid more attention in class instead of daydreaming and gazing out the window. But honestly, calculus? Come on. Who could honestly forgive her for dozing off on the odd occasion.
15 minuets. Crap! Two more questions to go. The two she'd been avoiding the entire test. oh well, just make up shit, write something down and maybe the prof. will give me pity marks.
5 minuets. Done! Chocolate eyes misty with relief that she was actually able to finish this time, Alice slips on her soft, faded black, leather coat before handing in her test and fleeing to the outdoors.
A stray breeze ruffles her long, poker-straight black hair as she reaches her arms up stretching and skips away to enjoy the rest of the day free from calculus.

Alba stared blankly at her test. What was wrong with her? She could do arithmetic in her head no problem, and yet when it came to calculus, she was rubbish.
"Find the differential of y = f(x) = x2 – 3x + 1 at x = 5."
Alba read the question again, and came no nearer the answer. "Fuck it," she thought. She stood up, grabbed her rucksack and walked out the door. She pulled out her iPod and scrolled through it, looking for the angriest music she could find, to match her mood. The Sex Pistols. Perfect.
She walked home with the sound of "Anarchy in the UK" pounding in her ears.
(The calc problem came from a page that came up when I Googled, it is not my own work)

Rany bounced across the outside of the school, searching for an enterance. A strange euphoria was slowly building up inside her. Today was the fist day she had seen the Manitoba university after receiving the letter. A strange letter offering her a place at the University, when midterms were over because of her 'special talents'. She had accepted partially because of the high level education offerend, partially because her parents told her not to, and partialy because she could leave her stupid highschool early but the rest was an unexplained pull. The fact that they beleived she had 'special talents' was a bonus. Hopefuly leading to special treatment and icecream.
Unable to find a way in, Rany walked up to a tired looking boy sitting on the grass.
"Hi! Can you please help me ..."
The boy cut her short with a movement of his hand, and leaned in towards her "The differential of y can be found in your heart, at the light of the full moon" He got up, brushing the dirt off himself, and walked away.
Confused, Rany stared after him wide eyed.
(I think we should think of the name for the University, not just, Manitoba University)

Alba walked briskly down the road, and looked behind her for cars, preparing to cross. While she was doing so, she bumped abruptly into someone.
"Oh, sorry!" she said. The girl looked young, almost too young to be a student, and yet here she was on campus. She was probably a secondary school child looking at the campus, though Alba was surprised she was not there on one of the tour days.

Rany broke her detirminded stare at the boy's back as she felt someone slam into her. She fell on the ground, and smiled slightly. The fall hadn't disturbed her euphoria. As she turned, Rany saw a girl examining and apoligizing to her.
"It's alright!" Rany said, brushing the dirt off herself, "Really!" she broke off, remembering, "Hey, did you know that the differiantal y can be found during the light of the full moon?" she grinned, "Are you a student here?"

"Indeed I am," Alba responded, "though I have no idea what you're talking about with the differentials; I'm rubbish at calculus."
She doesn't appear to be a student, Alba thought, examining the girl. She looks rather lost. I ought to help her.
"Do you need help?" she asked. "You're looking a wee bit lost. I'm Alba, by the way."

"Hello Alba! I'm Rany." she stuck out her hand, "Actually I'm very lost." Her eyes wandered upwards, "I received a letter offering me a place , but other then a mention of 'special talents' and 'special placement' I'm not quite sure what I'm doing here..."
Rany paused, following a falling leaf with her eyes.
"Not that I'm complaining" she grinned again, "I was looking for someone who might explain the schedules, programs, specials and stuff."

Alba shook the Rany's hand. Special talents, eh? she thought to herself. I think I might know what those are. I probably oughtn't tell her just yet, though. Out loud she said:
"Your best bet is probably the Students' Union for information, they have offices on the second floor and I'm sure there's a person there who can help you. I'll take you along now. What are you studying?"
She began to lead Rany in the direction of the Union, and thought about her own acceptance to the university. Hers had been due to "special talents" as well, although she had at least finished high school, and she got the impression that Rany hadn't.

Rany began to follow Alba, her dark eyes wide open. There was something strange in Alba's eyes, a sort of sympathy, and an indication that she was hiding something. But there was also an immense amount of kindness, and helpfulness. Rany was happy with that, walking after what she now beleived was a new friend. Distracted by her thoughs and a ray of Sunshine, Rany almost missed Alba's question.
"What I am studying? Do you mean what I will be studying when I come here?"

"Yes, as in your degree," Alba replied. "I'm a physics student, myself."
Alba kept forgetting that a lot of terms and expressions here in Canada were wholly different from their counterparts in the UK, where she grew up. Indeed, receiving a letter from the University of Manitoba whilst living in Scotland, when she had not even applied there, was a surprise, to say the least. Of course, she now knew why she had been invited to attend the university, though nevertheless it astounded her that these people in another country realised she had these abilities before she herself had known.
Maybe it was a Canadian thing, though; after all, her parents were Canadian, so it could be some sort of genetic thing that her parents had first. She'd never asked them, afraid that they would incarcerate her if it wasn't genetic.

"A joint degree" Rany smiled, "English and Music. Oh, and those special courses the letter said I was to take."

"English and Music, eh?" Alba grinned. "Interesting combination, that is."
The Students' Union came into view ahead, and Alba pointed it out to Rany. "See that ugly building up ahead?" she inquired. "The one that looks a bit like a beached whale? That's the Union."

Rany giggled, imagining the students inside, eaten up by the beached whale.
"Yes, I see it! Thank you so, so much Alba! You were so nice, and helped me so much. I will see you again, when I start the new term? Four days from now I beleive, right?" She bagan to walk towards the Union, but quickly turned, gave Alba a hug, and ran off in the beached whale's direction.
(Someone will need to roleplay a union member)

(( I don't know anything about Universities. T_T ))
Vander slammed his book closed and looked up with slight annoyance. Damn, his senses were already heightening, yet he still had two days left until the moon was just right. Lately his... episodes... have been lasting longer, and his symptoms lasted several days after. Now they were starting before. There went his quiet read. Slipping the text back into his bag, he restored the bag to his shoulder, and walked towards the two disrupters of silence.
Apparently there was a program for kids like him. He didn't know about it. Apparently there were others being trained to harness their talents. He didn't know about it. And apparently he was a kid they would be interested in. They didn't know about him.
Vander had been a rare case, he had manifested early on, and though his parents never found out, the child had practiced monthly to hone his strange abilities. He found that if he studied during an 'outbreak', he retained the information more, and in general anything he tried to learn or do was accomplished faster and more efficiently. Vander had no idea there were others like him; and so when he arrived at the two-- giving a sideways glance and a raised eyebrow to a girl who skipped by merrily-- right as Rany walked off, he stood for a moment, gazing and wondered if perhaps Rany had a high IQ and if that was the 'special talent' the U was interested in.
"Nice girl." He said, standing next to Alba and watching Rany walk towards the building that really looked nothing like a whale, in his opinion. Vander wasn't one with a huge imagination. His approach had been dead silent, and he hadn't even realized it.
